Faux Animal Heads

Tuesday, March 27, 2012

Lately I've been seeing a variety of faux animal heads making there way into peoples homes besides the ever so popular deer head.

This trend has been going strong for a couple of years now and while I personally have mixed feelings about them and currently don't have any in my home - I can see why people heart them so much. There fun , clever and are not at the least disturbing to look at, like the ones we saw growing up in woodsy cabins. They are definitely a show stopper and make for a great conversational piece!

Which leads me to ask do you see this trend going away anytime soon?  Are you loving these  adorable critters?

1.  Yellow Deer   2.  Elephant Trophy   3. Tiger Head    4.  Freckled Fawn    5. Art Deco Deer
6.  Elephant

  4. My sister and I have been drooling over one on Etsy, but it's $$$. So, last week she figured out how to make her own! She finished it with two different fun papers like one of your samples. I want to give it a try too! Not big on the real deer heads, but I love just the antlers or these faux ones.

    1. That sounds so cool! Does she have a blog where I can see it? Those faux heads can be quite expensive.

  5. I still love them! They're so quirky and fun and, while they're all over blogland, you don't often see them in real people's homes yet. I'm hoping the trend sticks around until I find one for my house. :)

  6. I love those funky ones. And I recently saw a rhino head in a boy bedroom makeover that was actually a 3-d puzzle that they spray painted! So cute ..
