Kitchen Design Plan

Tuesday, April 10, 2012

With so many beautiful projects I have seen lately, I realized I haven't done any recently. My last project I did was a jewelry organizer which happend to be featured on one of the best blogs, Tatertots and Jello. And it's not that I haven't done anything, actually things have been really busy around here.

Our kitchen reno that took us 3 mths. to complete is officially finished well the remodeling part that is. Just typing how long it took us makes me exhausted. All that really needs to be done besides some minor painting touch ups is - decorating. And since I'm known for constantly changing my mind more than I would like to admit, I want to be 100% sure in picking the final touches. With that being said I don't want to reveal my kitchen until everything has come into place.

What's the plan you ask:

Roman Blinds - Purchase fabric and ship it off to have Windows By Melissa make me custom shades. I heard some wonderful things about her. This is one project I don't plan on tackling myself. The fabric I will be using is called Ecru Woven Linen.

Breakfast Room Chairs-  Reupholster 4 chairs in the same fabric as roman blinds . I actually bought these Room & Board chairs from Craigslist a few mths. back.

Table- Believe or not more than 1 year ago I ordered a round dining table from Crate & Barrel and it's still boxed up. We will finally be able to set it up for the first time. Here's to hoping there are no surprise knicks or scratches.

Rug-  Order jute rug for breakfast room. Was Debating between Pottery Barn's or Rugs USA jute rug. But I think I will go with Rugs USA and save some $$.

I will be showing a sneak peek of our kitchen next week so be sure to check back !

  7. We all get so busy it is hard to share it all. I know it is that way with me at least. I was going to use Windows by Melissa, but my roman shade was too large for her to do. So she referred me to Grace, http://www.etsy.com/shop/Idealwindowfashions

She did a beautiful job on the roman shades, I was very happy with the referral. I was going to give you a link to show you how they looked in the nursery, but oops, I never posted about them. Ha! See, I am just like you. I better get on that.

  8. I can't wait to see the kitchen reveal! I sewed my own faux roman shades a couple months ago and they about drove me to the breaking point! Next time I might send them to Melissa to save my sanity! haha!

  9. I've ordered and have two round outdoor jute rugs from Rugs USA and have to say I'm really pleased. The price was under $100 and they've held up well. Easy to get stains out of ... and they're much softer than expected. And the quality is there and this is from someone who only EVER purchased Pottery Barn rugs ...

    :)

  12. Good luck with your kitchen plans! I know you're happy to have the hard part behind you. Now you can enjoy decorating. I have the jute rug, from Rugs USA. I love it! It was so much cheaper than PB and it's held up really well.
