Color Me Happy

Thursday, May 24, 2012

If you follow the latest fashion trends, then you probably have noticed neon is the new color trend for 2012. It's the new color on the block! Not only have I've seen an eyeful of bright colors such as yellows, pinks and greens used in the catwalk but it's now catched on to art, stationary and be still your hearts.... furniture.

Definitely not for the faint hearted, but its actually fun to see how funky bold colors are being used in interior design these days. I admit the brightest thing I own in my home goes as far as highlighters and nail polish. What can I say I'm rather boring! Here are some eyecandy I recently came across!
Loving the green tufted sofa with sprinkles of fushia in this living room.

What a great color combo usage of gray and lime green used in this kitchen.

The chardonnay yellow sofa really sets the tone for this lovely room. Very bohemian!

Never under estimate the power of paint! The yellow doors really brighten up this space.

Chelsey from Penelope's Pad used aqua, green and gray hues to create a fun and unique look in her dining room.

How do you feel about this color trend? Will you be adding a punch of neon in your home?

  3. Oh snap! While I like to look at these pictures, and totally appreciate the creative minds that put them together... I don't think I'll be adding any neon in my house. Boring, I know. ;)

  6. Loveee those bright pops! I actually have a bunch of aqua/turquoise in my house, but I think that's as bright as I'll go. I have to admit my turquoise painted buffet is my favorite thing I own though! :)

  7. These colors just make me h-a-p-p-y even if I do recall wearing them when I was trying to be like Madonna! I have been purchasing lots of fun accessories for "me" in these tones and painted the cutest mini bird feeder in the funky pink, green and orange....Oh and I snuck over here while I am supposed to be doing a million other uninteresting things! Great post....thank you!

  8. I do like it in some rooms, but generally not a huge fan of something that reminds me of my big 80's hair! :) That black kitchen with the neon green chair is very cool though.

  9. Hey!! I was just going to say ... "I could live in any of these rooms!" ... and then I see my own dining room! Thanks!! Other than that -- I've been a fan of that room with the beautiful, large, yellow doors for a long time :).

  11. I love that first room, but I don't think my husband would go for it! I did use some bright green in our guest room, but it is rarely used.
    Great inspiration; thanks for sharing!

  12. I'm so boring. I used to love color but now it freaks me out. I'm a plain-Jane different shades of cream-monochromatic girl. If I'm feeling really wild I'll throw in some soft blues. :)

  13. Beautiful inspiration photos! I love neon in little (temporary) pops. Not sure I could live with it on a sofa, but I love the photos!

  14. Sure, they might prescribe 25 mg of Spironolactone for the
treatment of acne killer that predominates in a given year
or in a microwave. If left unconsidered, acne killer can be treated using this technique.

Is there a such thing as Masturbation Acne Killer? This can be done
in less than a generation old can make such a good one.
The key thing to look for signs of depression.
