If you recall in last weeks post, I discussed my love for black and white abstract art and in hopes to creating one myself if you will.
So this past weekend I decided to do just that and lets just say it wasn't easy peasy as I had hoped. How many times have we all said to ourselves "Self , I could do that" (show of hands) only to find out that wasn't the case. I admit to doing that more than one occasion.
By no means am I a davinci or artist so please be kind but I think once I'm done it will add that "dramatic look" I'm going for to the kitchen/breakfast room area. Here it be. Remember it's not 100 percent done....m'kay!
Excuse the green tape and the awful lighting! I'm still debating on whether I should use one or both paintings I did. Suggestions?
On to the inspiration.... I got the first idea from a painting I pinned here and the second came from this gorgeous painting that belongs to homeowner Bruno Raymond. But on a much smaller scaler. Not that my project could even come close to the original or it's likeliness.

I plan on adding a black matt and framing them with one of Ikeas's frames then gold leafing em'. Overall I'm happy with the results even if it meant several anguish attempts and wasted paper. I will be back next week to show one or both paintings hung and framed. And now I can say I have tons of respect for all the artists in the world! xo

Oh I LOVE them!!!! Seriously! Great job! Use both, for sure!
ReplyDeleteThank you sooo much Tiffany! After the 10th attempt, I wasn't sure how it was going to turn out but overall I'm happy with the results.
DeleteOMG! Totally FAB!!! What an amazing job you did! I think you should use both of them. And with the matts and gold - shut up. They will look insane!
ReplyDeletehaha! You see where I'm going with this huh? Thanks Elizabeth!
DeleteLooks ah-mazing! Great job :)
ReplyDeleteThank you Amy! Your art gallery wall is amazing as well :)
DeleteExcited to see what you have created. I have been contemplating something abstract too - no time right now but soon, I hope.
ReplyDeleteI know what you mean Lisa! Never enough time in the day to do everything we wanna do. I look forward to seeing yours when you have the time :)
DeleteI love it! It does NOT look DIY in any way. You are such an arTISTE!
ReplyDelete**blushing**Oh Kelly you are so kind :)
DeleteWow, SO impressed!! I agree, hang both and be proud! :)
ReplyDeleteThanks Jenny! That does seem to be a popular answer. I think that's what I may do!
DeleteYour painting are awesome girl! I'd be proud if I were you! They will look so good with some black matting :)
ReplyDeleteOh Wow!! They look amazing!!! I totally love your style! Personally I like the first one, the one with the circles the most! Lately I'm having this crazy circles crave!! That one looks to me even better than the inspiration you got it from! Did you free handed the circles? I would use two with alike patterns or a three set of prints with two alike patterns!
ReplyDeleteI'm now following.
Mandy,
ReplyDeleteI like both of them. And they will look perfect in an IKEA frame! Love the graphic design element.
blessings,
karianne
They turned out great!! Nice job.
ReplyDeleteI think they turned out great! I thought they were the inspiration pictures when I first saw them!
ReplyDeleteMandy, they look great! I think you should use both of them! I haven't seen the space you're planning on putting these, but if you wanted to replicate the size of your inspiration pics, you could easily nail together a large wood frame, and staple a large abstract print fabric over it.
ReplyDeleteOh Mamdy I love then! I know they were hard but ou really dd a fabulous job on them. For sure use both! The frames are really going to finish them off. Maybe use rub n buff on them or a quicker finish. Can't wait to see them hung!
